We knew then and we know now that our work will not end there. Now President Trump and Republicans have doubled down on their cruelty and attacks on working people.

The Republican government shutdown has decimated funding for SNAP, leaving 42 million Americans without access to their full food stamp benefits. President Trump and Republicans could end the shutdown immediately, but they refuse to negotiate with Democrats on a funding bill that protects healthcare and keeps it affordable.
The No Kings Alliance and millions of Americans are coming together to demand senators act now to re-open the government and keep healthcare affordable. We’re calling on everyone to take two additional actions this week; in addition to continuing to care for our communities by providing mutual aid.

This is a critical moment in the fight for healthcare; we need to flood social media with our healthcare stories so we can pressure Republicans to stand up to President Trump and protect healthcare for their constituents.

Support your local food bank or mutual aid network with a financial gift to help feed families directly impacted by the shutdown.
Support your local community shelter.
Donate food, clothing, menstrual products, and other essentials to existing local food banks or shelters. Check with your local organizations first to see what they need most.
Host a Local give-back drive.
